My name is Kevin Hawley, but my friends call me "The Good Apple." I am running for Catawba County Board of Education because I believe EVERY child deserves a quality education and the opportunity to succeed
Kindness and compassion will guide my service, rooted in the words of Ephesians 4:32: "Be kind and compassionate one to another." I will always keep the needs of our students at the heart of every decision and work to ensure that every child has the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
My campaign is built around three priorities: safe and supportive schools, strong and honest academics, and partnership and transparency. I'm running because I believe in our children, I believe in our educators, and I believe in the future of Catawba County. Every child. Every classroom. Every opportunity.

My Story
I am a life-long resident of Catawba County. I grew up in the Mountain View area and graduated from Fred T. Foard High School. the content of my character was shaped by my faith and the family and friendships by which I was surrounded growing up at the foot of Baker's Mountain nestled close to the Catawba River.
I earned an associate's in advertising and graphic design from Catawba Valley Community College. I also earned a bachelor's in communications from Appalachian State University, where I was active in the housing and residence life department. Although I enjoyed my time in Boone and Watauga County, Catawba County has always been my home.
